Whole Food Supplements

Whole Food Supplements

Believe it or not, your multivitamin could be causing more harm than good.
All multivitamins are not created equal!
If you shop for your supplements at the supermarket or supplement discount stores, chances are you are buying cheap synthetic isolates.
Millions of Americans faithfully take their vitamins day in and day out for years, only to suffer and sometimes die from degenerative diseases.
You see, isolated vitamins are partial vitamins, combined with chemicals and dyes. They're a cheap alternative to real, whole, complete food.
There are four major problems with synthetic vitamins:
  1. LACK SYNERGY - God intended for you to consume food in WHOLE form because all the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and enzymes work synergistically to give your body the nutrition it requires for optimal health.
  2. INFERIOR ABSORPTION - Your body only absorbs a small percentage of synthetic vitamins and minerals, and it uses even less.
  3. INCONSISTENCY - Synthetic vitamins often give you massive quantities of some nutrients (usually the most inexpensive ones) and insufficient quantities of others, not the natural balance found in food.
  4. SIDE EFFECTS - You can experience side effects of synthetic isolates from the additives and the unnatural state of the synthetic supplement.
"Many companies selling vitamins are only doing so to make money. There are many grades of individual vitamins. Most companies use the cheapest grades available. These inexpensive "vitamins" in many cases are chemically produced and are not natural. Most vitamin pills have vitamins and minerals in a proportion never found in nature. . . Whole food supplements simply take organically produced vegetables and fruits and concentrate them into a convenient tablet that you can take. When you take a whole food supplement you are getting all the vitamins and minerals in the proportion that nature intended."

So, why not just eat all-natural whole foods?
That's an excellent question, and one you deserve an answer to.
Ideally it is best to receive all your nutrition from high quality unprocessed foods. Unfortunately, if you're like most people, you may find it impossible to eat right 100% of the time.
So, in recommending a high-quality whole-food supplement, please remember that these nutritional supplements complement the food you eat. They do not take the place of a healthy diet of organic foods.
But even if you do well with your diet choices, another factor involves the actual food supply itself. A number of carefully controlled studies have provided startling evidence that by the time the food reaches your table, serious nutrient content could already be lost. Some estimates report the nutrient value lost at over 50%!
This is largely the result of conventional farming methods that rely heavily on chemical fertilizers and pesticides which deplete the soil of nutrients that must be absorbed by plants in order to be passed on to you.
To make matters worse, it's likely you further deplete the nutrients in your food by the way you prepare it. For most food, cooking it will seriously impair its nutritional value.
"There is no way that you can get all the nutrients you need by eating food. You would have to eat ten to twenty times the amount of food as you are now, and it would all have to be organic for you to meet your minimum nutritional needs."

So what should I look for in a whole-food supplement?
Another good question.
A good whole-food supplement should contain concentrated plants (fruits and vegetables), sea plants, herbs, enzymes, probiotics and trace minerals.
These components will naturally address each person's nutritional deficiencies, which are the underlying cause of most all health problems. By correcting your personal vitamin and mineral deficiencies, you will radically improve your overall health. Not only will you find health problems reduced, but your body strengthened to prevent new problems from appearing.
"Simply taking a whole-food supplement can reduce or eliminate your nutritional deficiencies. When this happens you can virtually cure yourself of every disease. It is my contention that all diseases are caused by the same things, one of which is nutritional deficiencies. If you solve the nutritional deficiencies your body has the ability to heal itself. . . However, it can't heal itself or has a harder time healing itself if it is nutritionally deficient. When your body is nutritionally deficient you succumb to viruses and bacteria you pick up and your body begins to break down in the genetically weak areas. Therefore, it is vital to eliminate or reduce your nutritional deficiencies. Whole-food supplements are a good solution."
