Fresh Produce

Fresh Produce

I'm often asked where to start when moving toward organic foods.

Most people can't afford to eat 100% organic.
But it doesn't have to be an all or nothing game. You can significantly reduce your toxin consumption by just buying smart.
As a general rule, thin skinned produce absorbs the most toxins. Whereas, thicker skinned items protect the fruit or vegetable from contamination.
But to get even more specific, here's a list of the top 10 most and least contaminated produce.
Top 10 Most Contaminated:
  • Apples
  • Celery
  • Grapes
  • Potatoes
  • Strawberries
  • Bell Peppers
  • Raspberries
  • Peaches
  • Cherries
  • Nectarines
Top 10 Least Contaminated:
  • Bananas
  • Broccoli
  • Onions
  • Avocados
  • Cauliflower
  • Mangos
  • Asparagus
  • Kiwi
  • Papaya
  • Pineapple
If you start here, you'll go a long way to avoiding pesticides.
